To meet the concept of NPI, it is important to keep together the main research results on national population development which otherwise could be scattered across large scale of publications, even if considering leading international journals. From its very beginning, the Institute has put the emphasis on bringing the results together into national publication series, and at the same time, on the dissemination to international demographic community.

The publication series of the Institute are peer-reviewed. The publication series are annotated in Population Index/POPLINE. The current membership of the editorial board is as follows:
